Meet Simon
Tuesday, 5/16/23
Hey x 3!
I hope you all are enjoying the sun and being away from snow and winter for a while (if you’re reading this from a year-round wintery/mountain community, I apologize J)
You get to meet a GHOST.
That’s right. Simon is a ghost. Like most specters, he shows up in random parts, probably wants to rattle chains (if they had chains on Ralga!), and is important for *shh* secretive *shh* reasons in “Obsidian”! You’ll know more after reading the first novel I’ll publish (one day?!?) in the “Dark Salvation” series. Enjoy!
The last character interview will be with Maccus, a leader in Camouraska, so come back for that next week.
Disclaimer: the images of the characters were generated on Canva’s Text to Image Artificial Intelligence (AI) software. They aren’t the final representation of the characters in “Dark Salvation” but, rather, visual representations of the characters so you can understand the characters better.

JOHN: Tell us about yourself. Where you’re from, what you do for a living, for fun, etc. etc.
SIMON: I was born on Gardonan long ago, and I really don’t have a home. I don’t have a job and love playing with the other ghosts.
JOHN: How did you become a ghost?
SIMON: I was playing near some Energite, and suddenly, my world was gone. Everything was black for a moment, and then I could see more than I ever could. I think that’s when I became a ghost.
JOHN: Wow, you sound a lot older than you look. How old are you?
SIMON: <Shrugs>
JOHN: OK, well, what do you do as a ghost?
SIMON: I play with the other ghosts. I talk to Camouraska.
JOHN: What do you talk to Camouraska about? I interviewed it too.
SIMON: We talk about the Light of the Stars prophecy. We talk about my family. We talk about the other ghosts. Stuff like that.
JOHN: What do you think about the Light of the Stars prophecy?
SIMON: I don’t know. I want to love it like a lot of the other ghosts, but I can’t. Something inside me tells me not to. Do you know why I feel that way?
JOHN: I don’t. I’m not a ghost. Sorry. Can you tell the readers about what’s it like to be a ghost?
SIMON: I feel like I’m not here. We live between everything, but we can’t go everywhere, so it’s almost like we’re stuck. At least, that’s how some of the ghosts with more memories say it.
JOHN: I’m sorry you feel stuck. What if I told you that the Light of the Stars is there with you and the rest of the ghosts?
SIMON: That’s good, but I don’t feel any different. Can the Light of the Stars make me feel different?
JOHN: I’m sorry, but I also don’t know that.
SIMON: That’s fine. I’ll talk with Camouraska after this and ask what I should do next. Maybe when the Truth is found then I’ll feel something again.
JOHN: Is there anything dangerous that you can talk about? I mean, this is a science fiction novel series with some thrilling/suspenseful elements.
SIMON: I don’t know about any danger. I guess the only thing I can think of is the energy in the Energite. The other ghosts try to stay away from using the energy too much, and I hope the Ralgans know how to use it. People could get hurt using it.
JOHN: Want to say anything else to our readers?
SIMON: Have fun reading about us and don’t worry: I haven’t seen any snorr ghosts for a while. They can be scary! <Laughs>
