Meet Mordune
Tuesday, 5/29/23
Yo x 3,
(Finally) welcome to spring! I’m currently writing outside, and it’s high-60s/low-70s F. Perfect.
Zahra is an enigma, and I don’t think you’ll really get her until the book comes out. She may have a secret that she won’t tell you/the Ralgans for a little while. Get ready!
Here’s Mordune. He’s another Gardonan that doesn’t have a ton of screen time in “Obsidian,” but his time is impactful. You’ll know more after reading the first novel I’ll publish (soon?!?) in the “Dark Salvation” series. Enjoy!
The next interview will be with Simon, a VERY mysterious character, so come back for that next week.
Disclaimer: the images of the characters were generated on Canva’s Text to Image Artificial Intelligence (AI) software. They aren’t the final representation of the characters in “Dark Salvation” but, rather, visual representations of the characters so you can understand the characters better.

JOHN: Tell us about yourself. Where you’re from, what you do for a living, for fun, etc. etc.
MORDUNE: I was born on Gardonan and I can’t tell you where I currently live. I complete projects for my people. For fun, I love target practice.
JOHN: What kinds of targets do you practice on?
MORDUNE: The laws on your planet where you’re writing your book may be harsh to you if I tell you, so, for your sake, I can’t tell you.
JOHN: I appreciate that (?) Can you tell our readers what your role in “Obsidian” is?
MORDUNE: You know I can’t. Next question.
JOHN: Some others have called Energite dangerous. Do you think it’s dangerous?
MORDUNE: Ah, the Energite. I have a lot of experience with it, and it is dangerous, but only if you use it incorrectly. Don’t be like a plorg, and you should be fine.
JOHN: What’s a “plorg”?
MORDUNE: The right question you should ask is what WERE plorgs. That species had an unfortunate accident with a large stockpile of Energite they stole from my garrison. It didn’t end pleasantly for them.
JOHN: What are your thoughts about the Light of the Stars prophecy?
MORDUNE: I wouldn’t have my job without the prophecy, so I support it.
JOHN: Can you say more about that?
MORDUNE: I’m represent the Light of the Stars and what they can accomplish. Once again, that’s all I can say.
JOHN: I interviewed Bahij previously. Have you two met?
MORDUNE: We have met. My next stop is Ralga to check in on him. Do you know if he had any updates for me on his mission?
JOHN: No. What is his mission?
MORDUNE: If he didn’t tell you, I can’t mention it here. If you’re interviewing others from Ralga for your book, that means they’re still alive. Let’s just say he’s failed his mission. Predictable for scum like him.
JOHN: Is there anything dangerous that you can talk about? I mean, this is a science fiction novel series with some thrilling/suspenseful elements.
MORDUNE: Energite is dangerous. I’m even more dangerous.
JOHN: That devolved quickly. Any parting words for our readers?
MORDUNE: I’m coming Ralga. Be ready. Readers, don’t believe anything Bahij tells you. He’s dangerous, just like me.
