Michael never intended to become a hero. He was used to his boring life on Earth. Then, he swallowed some black pills his friend gave him at a party, but instead of dying a horrible death, Michael is transported to the opposite end of the Universe. Those on the planet where he lands, Ralga, believe he’s their savior, the “Light of the Stars.” And he thought his life was boring.
As Michael learns more about the alien that destroyed almost everything on Ralga, he begins to see two disparate survivor groups. The Camouraskans are safe in a black rock shelter, while the Jakars suffer in the desert within sight of the imprisoned alien waiting to destroy them. As one of two Light of the Stars, Michael is supposed to be a powerful leader and activate a cryptic Truth, the answer to life’s biggest question, but the current leaders don’t want to lose their power, and Michael’s life is in danger until he locates the other Light of the Stars. Torn between a desire to make his new devotees happy and his fear of failure, Michael must accept his role to save his newfound friends.

A quivering sensation started in his feet and crept up his legs, his torso, and into his vision. He rubbed his face to control his anxiety. Then, he saw it.
