Visit Jakar!

Monday, 6/20/23

Welcome, folks!!

If you have twenty-four hours in the Jakar desert community, we’ve got a designed itinerary designed to help you make the most of your experience. Enjoy the marketplace and hopefully you can take a trip to the Forest! Just be careful of the Beast!

Morning

8am – Wake up in your tent and tell the guard posted outside that you want to explore the market. You won’t be disappointed!

8:15am – Amble around the market and take in all the smells and admire the Energite trinkets. For food, try some Pristine fruit, especially grilled to bring out the fresh taste. A few vendors will be selling nuts from the forest, and you may even find some snorr meat if you ask around.

Want a knife? Want some fruit? You can find so many things in the Jakar marketplace!

9:15am – Take your time and when you’re ready, make your way to the council chamber. The dome is made from a combination of Energite and traditional sands, making it the strongest structure in the desert community. If Nyla is around, she may let you explore the interior, although it’s normally reserved only for council people, guards, and invited guests.

One of the Jakar leaders, Nyla, helped construct the dome of the council chamber using Energite sand. It has amazing stabilizing properties.

10:00am – While it’s still relatively cool in the desert, find a guide to bring you out to the Energite arena. We recommend asking Mariam if she’s around. While out there, see if your guide will make you something with the Energite. Be careful! It’s the most dangerous substance in the Universe, so only use with your guide or someone else who has used it. If you’re lucky, you may see some community members sparring with their Energite weapons!

The people of Jakar found the arena just outside their community when they arrived. Why is it there? Nobody knows.

Energite can be a tool and also a weapon. Use it with caution!

11:00am – Head back to the Jakar marketplace and grab lunch. Ripora has some excellent teas and drinks to have for the hot afternoons in the desert.

Ripora is standing with her stall in the Jakar marketplace. Try some of her teas for a soothing experience.

Afternoon

12:00pm – Walk back to your tent and enjoy a rest before going to the Jakar Forest to help collect water for the community.

2pm – After your rest, head over to the council chamber to meet the others going to the Jakar Forest to gather water.

4pm – Arrive at the Jakar Forest. Take it all in, because you’ll turn around quickly so that you’re not in the desert at night.

The Jakar Forest is a beautiful but also dangerous place. Have fun exploring the waterfall and stream where the Jakar’s gather their water.

6pm – Arrive back at the Jakar community.

Evening

6pm – Often, people eat together in the marketplace or around fire pits nearby. Find Nyla or Shataym if you need a group to join.

8:00pm – If it’s a beautiful night, enjoy the stars and the moons!

A great way to end the day is sit outside your tent and gaze at the stars. You won’t see anything this beautiful in Camouraska!

10pm – Enjoy the time around the fire. There are musicians in Jakar that are some of the best on Ralga. Get up and dance!
