Meet Bahij
Monday, 4/24/23
Hello, readers!
Valdesha’s interview was something else, wasn’t it? I came in expecting a more peaceful interaction, but you never know how these things will turn out! I just hope the next interviews will be more placid. That wouldn’t be fun though, would it??? J
Here’s Bahij. He is the resident Gardonan in “Obsidian.” I don’t know if you all remember or not, but Gardonans are giant human species: the average Gardonan stands about double the height of a human. Thankfully, my sound studio is large enough to fit Bahij! Also, he speaks Ralgan, so I don’t need to reprogram Google Translate again. I’ll interview Zahra next, so be sure to come back for that.

JOHN: Tell us about yourself. Where you’re from, what you do for a living, for fun, etc. etc.
BAHIJ: I was born on Gardona and call Camouraska home. I am a member of the council there. For fun, I volunteer in the Healing Chamber and guide people about the Energite.
JOHN: Valdesha talked about Gardona last week. She said you send community members there as ambassadors. Can you say anything else about that?
BAHIJ: I traveled with the first few groups to Gardona and got them settled, but I haven’t been back since. When I did help with the transports, I found the Camouraskans housing when we got there and arranged introductions with delegates in the capitol, Arktos. Since then, I assume the transports have operated the same.
JOHN: What can you tell the readers about the Healing Chamber?
BAHIJ: They are like the Healing Chambers we have on Gardona. Sick or wounded Camouraskans can go there to recover. We lay the patients on beds made from Energite, and the healing powers of the rock help quicken the convalescence process.
JOHN: What kinds of things can the beds help with?
BAHIJ: Many things. I’ve seen broken legs heal in a fraction of the time it normally would take.
JOHN: Some others have called Energite dangerous. Aren’t you worried that the beds could be dangerous?
BAHIJ: Energite is dangerous. It’s one of the most dangerous things in the Universe. However, if we can use it for good, there are so many ways it can help us.
JOHN: How do you feel now that Michael is living in Camouraska?
BAHIJ: I’m happy that others are excited. Many have been waiting for him to arrive for their whole lives.
JOHN: What are your feelings about the prophecy?
BAHIJ: I go to the services, but I’m mainly there to support my family. I don’t really believe in the prophecy, especially since I know the truth about what the Gardonans did in the past on Ralga.
JOHN: What is the truth about the Gardonans?
BAHIJ: HDKJGOOEKDKJGKDLDLDLLDLLLLLLLLLLLHIMYNAMEISJOHNHEY
JOHN: Right, we probably should edit that out. What did you mean about your “family” at the service? Are there other Gardonans on Ralga?
BAHIJ: No, I’m the only one here. My family are the people of Camouraska. They’ve been kind to me when others doubted me in my life. They are my chosen family.
JOHN: Is there anything dangerous that you can talk about? I mean, this is a science fiction novel series with some thrilling/suspenseful elements.
BAHIJ: There is always a danger when it comes to Energite. I’ve been around it my whole life and know its destructive potential inside and out. I fear it’s only a matter of time before something happens.
JOHN: That’s the kind of answer I’m looking for! Where else have you interacted with Energite?
BAHIJ: You’re too excited about it. Energite has destroyed countless lives. I’ve seen it on Gardona and elsewhere in the Universe. So many people think it’s the solution to all our problems. It’s not.
JOHN: Any parting words for our readers?
BAHIJ: Please don’t follow the examples set in this book, whether by me, Ralgans, or others. I don’t know who you can trust but if you must trust someone, trust yourself. You know that person the best.
JOHN: They can trust me. They can trust you, can’t they?
BAHIJ: I don’t know you well enough, John, but how can anyone be trusted when Energite is involved? In any form, even in a book. I hope I can be trusted, but I’ve never met a Light of the Stars face-to-face. I just want to protect my family. That’s all that matters.
